Chiropractic Services in Soddy Daisy

woman having a neck adjustmentAt Thrive Chiropractic’s Soddy Daisy practice, Dr Bri Burt provides personalized chiropractic care using a range of techniques selected according to each patient’s individual needs, comfort and health goals.

Rather than applying the same approach to every patient, Dr Burt considers factors such as the patient’s health history, symptoms, mobility and preferences before recommending an appropriate form of care.

Full-Spine Diversified Manual Adjustments

Diversified adjusting is a commonly used hands-on chiropractic technique designed to restore movement to areas of the spine that are not moving as well as they should. This technique you might hear a “popping” sound which is just air leaving the joints as we provided gentle movement.

The technique involves carefully directed manual adjustments that are adapted to the individual patient. It may be considered for patients experiencing restricted movement, joint stiffness, back discomfort, neck discomfort or other musculoskeletal concerns.

Before any adjustment is performed, Dr Burt will assess the patient and explain the recommended approach.

Thompson Drop Technique

The Thompson Drop Technique uses a specially designed chiropractic table with sections that gently drops about one inch lower during the adjustment. The movement of the table assists the adjustment and allows the chiropractor to use a controlled amount of force. Some patients prefer this style of adjusting versus the traditional side posture twisting used with Diversified adjusting.

It can be adapted to address different areas of the spine and pelvis according to the findings of the patient’s assessment.

Instrument Adjusting

Instrument adjusting uses a small handheld chiropractic instrument to deliver a gentle and targeted impulse to a specific joint or area of the body.

The technique does not involve the twisting or popping commonly associated with some manual adjustments. It may be suitable for patients who prefer a lighter approach, those who don’t like hearing the “popping” sound, or when the chiropractor determines that a more targeted adjustment would be appropriate.

Dr Burt will discuss the available options and select the technique best suited to the patient’s needs.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation uses carefully controlled electrical impulses applied through pads placed on the skin. It may be incorporated into a patient’s care plan to help support muscle relaxation, bring blood flow to the tissues, and improve comfort or assist with rehabilitation.

The intensity can be adjusted according to the patient’s comfort. Dr Burt will determine whether electrical stimulation is appropriate following an assessment and will explain what the patient can expect before treatment begins.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the careful insertion of very fine needles into specific muscular trigger points or areas of tension. It may be used to address tight muscles, support mobility and complement chiropractic or rehabilitative care.

Although the same type of fine needle may be used, dry needling is different from acupuncture and is based on a musculoskeletal assessment versus meridian points of Chinese medicine. Dr Burt will determine whether the therapy is appropriate for the condition that is presenting and explain the procedure before obtaining the patient’s consent.

Care Designed Around You

The services recommended will depend on the findings of your consultation and assessment. Not every technique is suitable or necessary for every patient, and your care plan will be designed around your individual needs.
